Problem...
An "EASY" way for affiliates to offer and maintain a value added bonus or create a sense of urgency for purchasing a merchant's products or services.

Now I'm not one to gloss over real issues, so here's what is really involved with offering a bonus incentive, why you don't see more affiliates offering them in the marketplace and why you might not offer them yourself.

For those that aren't quite sure whats involved then please continue. When you come to the solution below you will realize just how powerful my solution is for your business.
A popular way for affiliates (usually super affiliates) to compete amongst themselfs and add value to a product or service being offered, is to offer their referrals a bonus. They instruct the referrals to contact them back through email or through their support desk and have them forward a copy of their purchase receipt for verification.
Some affiliates in order to create urgency, and/or to make it easier for them to manage their bonus offering, set a period of time that the bonus incentive is available.
There are a few things that I found troublesome for the affiliate, the customers and the merchant when a bonus incentive is being offered like this.
First and foremost...
It's inconvienient for the customer!
If the customer has to write an email. The customer has to go back and locate the special instructions and an email address that they must use to collect their bonus. Now one of two things will happen. They can attach the receipt for their purchase or copy/paste the details of the transaction. In either situation, it means they must locate the receipt. Once they send it off now its a waiting game to know exactly when they will get a response back from the affiliate.
If the customer has to complete a helpdesk ticket in most cases the customer will have to take the time to complete a registration form for the helpdesk so they can then submit a ticket. If the helpdesk requires a verification process then they must wait for a response from the helpdesk system in order to verify them for the system. Now they have to locate their receipt and grab the details and copy/paste them into the helpdesk form and submit it. Again, its a waiting game to know exactly when they will get a response back from the affiliate.
In either case, not all affiliates will use the same email addresses they use for their newsletters or ezines as they will for bonus redemption or their helpdesk. These new email responses won't be whitelisted and the response back from the affiliate could get lost in a spam filter.
If that happens the customer must hunt down the affiliate to try and get their bonus. In some cases they may have purchased the product or service in order to receive the bonus and if they don't get it they may file a dispute with the merchant and even ask for a refund.

Affiliates have to get the word out somehow about their special bonus incentive for buying a product or service through them. They may do this directly in an email if they maintain a list and give special instructions in order to collect the bonus.
If affiliates promote or market through other advertising means the affiliate may set up a special landing page to mention the bonus that they are offering and instructions on how to collect it.
Next the potential customer gets directed over to the product site using their affiliate link. The issue here is that whenever anyone lands on the bonus incentive page there is always a chance that the potential customer will not continue on and get sidetracked away from the product that was being promoted.
To manage this kind of bonus incentive requires affiliates to be married to their email or support system and manually respond back to fulfill the bonus offering.
This is laborous and time consuming and basically a 24 hour a day job for the entire time their bonus incentive is being offered.
We all know how unreliable email is and how emails get lost within spam. It's no different for affiliates. If they offer a bonus incentive and they don't see the email or respond back they are going to have some unhappy customers. The last thing affiliates want to do is upset the buying segment of their list.
And lastly, the bonus incentive is supposed to be available only to those that make their purchase through the affiliate right? What happens when someone passes on the location of the bonus to others. Not Good!

Now the merchant has to deal with the non fulfillment issues of the affiliate, respond back to the customer, contact the affiliate, wait for the affiliate to reply, contact the customer again and let them know what they found out, and they weren't even the ones offering up a bonus.
For all these reasons and more you can plainly see why its not very convienient for merchants, customers, or affiliates to set up and offer a value added bonus incentive.

Now they dont have to give out special instructions to anyone in order to collect a bonus incentive. Now they don't have to man their email for bonus incentive fulfilment.
Everything is automated and it's like promoting a product the way they normally would.
Now all they have to do is be willing and able to complete a submission form with details of their product they are offering, upload some files and set up a download page.
Merchant can set one of 3 bonus management modes for how the bonus will be delivered to the customers:
- All bonuses are available to all purchasers regardless of who refers them. (Can You Say JV Giveaway?)
- Bonuses available only to the affiliates referred customers.
- Affiliates can choose if bonus should be available to their referrals only or to all purchasers.
Merchant Approval System or Auto approval.
- Merchant has the option to turn on auto approval in which all bonuses contributed will be live in the system.
- Merchant has option for manual approval in which the merchant may look over the bonuses in a pending area and elect to approve or deny the bonus. (Since the bonus incentive does display on the sales page I give the merchant that option)
- In either case the affiliate is notified by email of the status change for their contribution.
Affiliate Files (Starter Templates Provided):
- The merchant is able to include their own header, footer and images if they desire.
- Allows the affiliates bonus download area to carry over the same look and feel of the merchants site.
- Affiliate is not required to use these files in order to contribute a bonus unless that is a stipulation of the merchant in order to contribute.
- Using these files will provide protection against unauthorized access.
- customer must access the bonus download site directly from the merchants download page the first time.
- If the purchaser's browser allow cookies and they have not been cleared then they are able to re-acccess the bonus download page. Otherwise they must gain access to the bonus by the link on the merchant's product download page.
- Affiliate files allow affiliate to include personalized information within the bonus incentive download page on the affiliate's site through the use of tokens that place the customers info on the page.
- Affiliate Options When Submitting Their Bonus.
- Affiliate provides:
- title of the bonus
- brief description
- location of their bonus download page.
- Affiliate may personalize an email that the customer receives when the customer clicks on the affiliate's bonus download link.
- When merchant has the option set for bonuses to be available "only to the affiliate's customers" the affiliate is able to set a starting and ending date for the availability of their bonus incentive. This can create urgency in the customer.
Configurable Emails (Starter Templates Provided):
- Merchant is able to set up global emails that are available when they are setting up a product that they wish to allow bonus submission for. Saves the need to configure brand new emails each time when they are available from your global storage area.
- Admin configures email "From Name" and "Email Address" used for all outgoing emails.
- Emails may use any number of personalization tokens we have made available.
- (Status = Approved)
The affiliate is sent this email when their bonus has been approved manually or on auto approval.
- (Status = Deactivated/Denied)
The affiliate is sent this email should the bonus be placed into deactivated or denied status. If the admin has the system set to approve each bonus he/she may have reason for not including the bonus. Maybe it doesnt fit with the theme of the sale or if their bonus has been reported to the admin that there is something wrong etc...
- (Status = Deleted)
The affiliate is notified when their product has been deleted.
- (Status = Pending Approval)
The affiliate is sent this notice when the bonus is first submitted if manual approval is set or if the admin places a product back into pending because of any issues.
- (Status = Warning)
The affiliate is sent a warning email so many days (admin setting) prior to the expiration of the bonus availablity.
Autocron:
- This feature will automatically send out warning notifications to the affiliate prior to a affiliate's bonus expiring to remind the affiliate to send out their final push for your sale.
Configurable Table Template System (Starter Templates Provided):
- Admin is able to set up global table templates that the bonuses will be displayed in. Saves the need to configure brand new table templates each time a product is set up in RAP when they are available from your global storage area.
- Templates may use any number of layout tokens that will display the affiliate's bonus details within a format that matches the sales and download pages.
- Templates can be designed independantly for display on the sales, oto or the download pages.
OK! There you have it. I thought of everything and then some to make this addon a super affiliate tool for you to add to your RAP system. As you can see this is a full scale solution with nothing left out to manage affiliate value added bonus incentives.
This solution eliminates most reasons why an affiliate wouldn't want to add a bonus. It's now up to you to educate them why they would want to and provide them the means to do it.

- Step 3) Click "Configure Product settings" Select the 3 self explanatory options and enter the path where your reseller files can be downloaded from. Make one entry on the reseller file index.php adding your domain to it. Zip up the files and upload them to the location you entered on the settings screen.
- Step 4) Click "Product Email templates" Enter your name and from email address and click the "Click To Save Button"
